Welcome to GMO Peaches
Welcome to GMO Peaches. We are a company that wants to change peaches forever.
Don't you know how peaches have that soft skin around it. I mean, it's really soft; too soft. We decided we needed to do something about it. The only way to physically change the peach is to make it into a GMO. If you don't know what a GMO is, or if you do know but are still a bit uncertain, please check out our Background and Genetic Engineering pages. We decided to take a gene of hard skin and put it into the peach. What better fruit to use than an apple? An apple has thick, firm skin that doesn't bruise nearly as easily as a peach's skin. Plus, everyone loves apples. So we got to work. For more information about the GMO Peach please visit our GMO Peach page.
Anyway, our slogan is "Help us make better peaches. Help us save millions." The peaches part is pretty simple, but what exactly does help us save millions mean? Well, it actually has a double meaning - it means two things. The first thing is peaches. Help us save millions of peaches. If the peach has a harder skin, then they won't bruise as easily. What does this mean? It means the peaches won't rot and die. Therefore, over a period of time, we will save millions of peaches.
The second meaning is money. Help us save millions of dollars. This will save us all money. The first person who saves money is the farmer. They send out hundreds of peaches a year to grocery stores. The peaches that are bruised can't be sold. This means that the farmer isn't making any money off of those peaches. He's losing about 10% of his money from those bruised peaches. The second person this will effect isn't even a person. It's a group, a service, of thousands of people spread out across the country: Grocery stores. Like I said before, peaches that are bruised can't be sold. Of all of the peaches that grocery stores are bringing in, tons of them are bruised. This isn't only losing the farmer money, but also the grocery store. Once the peach cannot be bruised, both the farmers and the grocery stores will save millions. The third, and final, person that saves money is you. This may not save you MILLIONS, but it'll certainly save you something. Think about it, if the grocery stores have less bruised fruit, then they can sell more, and put more on the shelves. The more there is of something, the lower the price goes. It's supply and demand. If there's a lot or peaches coming in (that aren't bruised), then the overall price of them will go down. But if there aren't as many good peaches out there, the price will get jacked up. Anyways, this project will help save YOU money. Thanks for visiting this site, and please, take a few moments to read and click around our pages. It helps us a lot! Thank you for helping support the GMO Peach!
Regards,
The GMO Peach Team
